Turning 16...

Well technically, my birthday was yesterday, but it's never too late for you to send me edible goods high in sugar. *hint hint*
=P

One thing I've noticed is that people seem to think turning 16 is a big thing, but I didn't think it was. Like, when I was talking to my Auntie, she was really surprised that I wasn't having more of a celebration. Personally, I thought the main birthdays started at 18...

I was wondering what you guys think? Did you celebrate your 16th much? Are you going to celebrate your 16th much?

Plus, in England, there's a few things you can do now you're 16. Obviously, you're not considered a child in a legal sense so the criminal justice system applies to you now, but maybe not as much as if you were 18, I'm not sure. Plus, you can get married (with your parents consent), have legal sexual intercourse, buy cigarettes and play the lottery.

I was wondering if there were different things that you could do in your countries? Like, are you allowed to start driving at 16? Or can you not buy cigarettes until you are 18?
Just examples....

In other news, I just recieved my GCSE exam timetable today. It isn't exactly looking great. =P On one day, I've got a 1h 45mins English followed by a 2 hour Graphics exam. However, it's not as bad as those who took Graphics and Food Tech, because they are supposed to have their exams at the same time, so they have to do one after the other, staying in school till about 4:30. Plus, because they are so strict with the anti-cheating rules, they can't leave the hall, and if they need the toilet, they need to be searched and the bathroom checked for any writing. =P

I need to get my portfolio back up, as it's been down since before Christmas...
I won't be using that old design though because I don't like it anymore. Well, it's not that I don't like it, but I know that I can do much better now. I still want something basic and simple though. A lot of white.....

Congratulations for reading this far. I know I'll get something like 7 views, so go me! Woo...

Yee for me I'm the first to reply!
About the 16th birthday, I agree with you, I have been 16 since 14th January and I don't feel any different. Anyway, in Estonia most of the goods come at the age of 18, including driving and cigarettes, but you are considered responsible in law at the age of 14.
Oh, actually you can drive at the age of 16, but with a co-driver who at least has driving experience of 2 years.

Happy b-day!

Many happy returns of the day Sam! =D I thought 17 might the big year over there since you start driving. I'm not looking forward on turning 16 though, my birthday's next month. We can drive at 16 so I thought I'd get my license maybe, but I don't think that's going to happen since I haven't studied my material much. The age of consent here is pretty low; 14 years. Though that doesn't affect me really.
